          RESOLVE TO GET INVOLVED              

 

A MESSAGE FROM VICKIE ELLIOTT

 FORMER PRESIDENT OF ST. MARY’S PARENTS GROUP

 

It is both an honor and pleasure to have served as President of St. Mary’s Parents Group.  Like all of us, the decision to place my son Cole at St. Mary’s was absolutely heart wrenching.  But my husband Shannon and I knew that this was Cole’s opportunity to gain the skills and education that he could not have learned at home.

Cole is doing fantastic and I am very thankful to all of the staff who have made such a difference in Cole’s life as well as ours.  But the staff cannot do it alone.  They need the support and encouragement of the parents.  Being an active member of the Parents Group is one of the best ways that we can show our support and appreciation 
for St. Mary’s. 

Through our fund raising efforts, we help to provide funding for the horse program and other activities that makes St. Mary’s so very special.  We also show our support for the staff through the annual Staff Appreciation Day and Christmas bonuses. 

There are a number of ways that you can help.  You can help to sell The Bishop’s Bounty cookbook, become active in your regional area, or volunteer at St. Mary’s.  Several volunteer opportunities are available, ranging from office help to fixing bicycles 
and other equipment.      

As we head into the new year, I would like to ask you to make a New Year’s resolution that you will keep – GET INVOLVED WITH ST. MARY’S PARENTS GROUP!  It will be the very best resolution you will ever make and one that will touch the lives of all of our precious children.
